Terms of Service

1.Who we are

Bayan is an AI-assisted digital platform for creative and non-fiction writing, operated from the United Arab Emirates. In these terms, “Bayan”, “we” and “us” refer to the platform, and “you” refers to the user.

2.Your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account, or use Bayan under the supervision of a parent or guardian. You sign in with your email or phone number using a one-time code or a password, and you’re responsible for keeping those credentials safe and for all activity under your account.

Please keep your details accurate and up to date, and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3.Free trial

Every new account receives a three-day free trial with no payment method required. The trial includes specific features and a limited AI credit, and ends automatically with no charge. We may change the length or scope of the trial for new accounts in the future.

4.Subscriptions & payment

Bayan subscriptions are prepaid periods — monthly or yearly — that do not renew automatically. Prices are shown in UAE dirhams and payments are processed by Ziina under its own terms; we never store your card details.

A period begins once payment is confirmed. If you renew the same plan before your current period ends, the new period starts when the current one finishes. We send reminders before a period ends; if it lapses without renewal, your account becomes read-only, and your content stays available to read and export.

We may change prices or plans, but no change will apply to a period you’ve already paid for.

5.Refunds

Because subscriptions are prepaid and do not renew automatically, payments are generally non-refundable. Exceptions include duplicate charges, loss of access caused by a fault on our side, and anything required by applicable law. To request a refund, contact us within seven days of payment.

6.Ownership of your content

Everything you write in Bayan belongs to you. We claim no ownership of your text, characters or worlds. You grant us only a limited licence to store, process and display your content to you as needed to run the service — including sending it to our AI model provider when you ask us to.

You are free to use text generated by the AI tools at your request; it remains your responsibility to check its accuracy and suitability before publishing.

7.AI tools

Bayan’s AI tools rely on models supplied by a third-party provider. They can occasionally be wrong or suggest something unsuitable — they assist your editorial judgement, they don’t replace it. Usage counts against your plan’s AI credit, and we may limit excessive or automated use to keep the service fast for everyone.

8.Acceptable use

You agree not to use Bayan to break the laws of the United Arab Emirates, infringe others’ intellectual property, produce content that incites violence or hatred or exploits minors, attempt to breach, disrupt or scrape the platform, or resell the service without our written permission.

We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice wherever possible.

9.Availability & liability

We work hard to keep Bayan available and secure, but we provide it “as is”, without guaranteeing it will be entirely free of interruptions or errors. We recommend exporting copies of important work regularly. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

10.Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from settings, or by contacting us. Your data is removed from our active systems within thirty days and from backups within ninety days. We recommend exporting your work before deleting.

11.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic text prevails.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll notify you of any material change by email or in the app a reasonable time before it takes effect; continuing to use Bayan afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
